Job Summary

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for providing analytical and financial support across all areas of the business. This position will play a key role in the company’s financial planning and analysis function as well as driving operational efficiency through reporting and analysis. The role will partner with leadership and senior managers to monitor key performance metrics, analyze the company’s financial results, and identify business trends.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

•Conducts financial statement analysis with focus on operational performance trends within the P&L as well as the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement
•Assist in preparation of monthly financial summaries and key performance indicators for senior leadership
•Prepares monthly reports for distribution to all levels of the organization with the utmost attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of the results being reported
•Supervise work of group of analysts while also coaching and developing the team
•Assist in preparation of strategic reviews, quarterly forecasts and annual plans
•Maintain, improve and create financial models/analysis to analyze results and trends
•Partners with other functions within the organization to analyze business needs, including but not limited to: real estate, marketing promotions, pricing strategy, operations, etc.
•Performs ad-hoc analysis as required to support key initiatives and special projects

Leadership Responsibilities and Reporting

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis reports to the Senior Vice President & Treasurer and provides support to the Executive Team and functional area Department Heads.


Requirements:
Qualifications

•Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree required.
•CPA/CFA or other professional designation required
•Minimum 8 years’ experience in related field
•Multi-unit restaurant or retail industry experience is preferred, but not required
•Expert knowledge of accounting principles and US GAAP required
•Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, statistical analysis, corporate finance and financial modeling is required
•Experience with enterprise planning software (e.g. Adaptive Insights, Host Analytics, etc.) is required
•Familiarity with SQL queries and SQL database environments required
•Advanced knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications
•Experience managing team of analysts or junior staff required

Additional Physical Requirements

•Must be able to continuously see. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, view computer monitors, give & receive oral communication, bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, and discern color. Must be able to occasionally sit, drive, type, and make fine discriminations in sound
•Must be able to do repetitive simple grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing & pulling on a frequent basis
•Must possess a valid driver’s license and drive to and from work locations when requested/required
•Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule that could include nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by the needs of the business
