II. Job Summary

The Staff Accountant - Cash will be primarily responsible for reconciling daily credit card and cash transactions from restaurants and investigating variances. This position will also be responsible for other month-end account reconciliations, direct assistance to external auditors and performing special projects as needed.

III. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions in this job description are not all-inclusive of this position’s duties and responsibilities.
•Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
•Prepare accounting-related journal entries (daily/month-end)
•Prepare detailed reconciliations of cash and credit card bank accounts and investigate identified differences with restaurants and/or credit card processing company
•Prepare specific cash and credit card analysis reports, as needed
•Prepare other balance sheet account reconciliations, as assigned, with reference to supporting documentation
•Analyze accounting problems and arrive at workable solutions. Evaluate information, identify key issues that need to be addressed and develop courses of action that effectively address the issue at hand
•Work collaboratively with restaurant General Managers and other Corporate functions (Operations, Finance)
•Preparation of supporting data for external auditors
•Maintain a strong internal control environment
•Implement and develop solutions to drive accounting efficiencies
•Support other accounting related projects and functions as assigned
•Adhere to Company policies and procedures

IV. Reporting Structure

The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Senior Accountant. This position does not currently have any direct supervisory responsibility.

V. Qualifications

•Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting/Finance;
•2+ years of full-time experience in accounting, specifically with performing detailed bank account reconciliations
•Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments
•Experience within the retail, restaurant, or similar industry
•Experience with external auditors
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
•Previous experience with Great Plains, Nolan and Blackline a plus
•Public Accounting experience strongly preferred

VII. Additional Physical Requirements

•Must be able to continuously see, view computer monitors, give & receive oral communication
•Must be able to do repetitive simple grasping, fine manipulation, and pushing & pulling on a frequent basis
•Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule as dictated by the needs of the business
