Job Summary

The Sr. Employee Relations Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing the Employee Relations programs, functions and activities according to established guidelines and sound administrative practices.
III.\tEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions in this job description are not all-inclusive of this position’s duties and responsibilities.

•Participates in the resolution of employee relations issues and coordinates response to complaints
•Manages employee relations calls from the field
•Participates in and supports the documentation of investigations of workplace complaints and allegations such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and policy violations
•Maintains a database of employee relations issues and investigations to assist with trending analysis and proactive response solutions
•Develops and maintains strong partnerships with restaurant operators
•Conducts exit interviews, analyzing trends or opportunities for feedback or improvement particularly in areas related to employee engagement
•Prepares and analyzes data to monitor compliance with employment laws and with organization goals and policies
•Consults with management on the application of employment related training to the workplace. Participates in the development of training materials to address gaps in knowledge and performance related to employment matters
•Develops and maintains a recordkeeping system that documents and tracks the status of all EEOC complaints, lawsuits, and other employee related legal matters
•Ensures that legally required federal and state required forms, notices and posters are maintained for each restaurant and the corporate office
•Presents employee relations best practices to new restaurant managers in a classroom setting
•Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, programs and compliance issues
•Stays apprised of employment law changes and industry trends in legislation across the United States
•Coaches managers on effective methods to ensure the development and maintenance of a work environment that fosters sensitivity and respect for people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and disabilities
•Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
•Works effectively as a team member with employees, management and the human resources staff
•Other duties may be assigned


Requirements:
The Sr. Employee Relations Manager reports to the Chief People Officer and provides support to Operations and the senior leadership team. This position has no direct reports.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university. Master’s degree in related discipline a plus - and-
•Three to five years in human resources management, employee relations or related experience -or-
•Equivalent combination of education and experience
•Employee relations role with a medium to large multi-unit / multi-state organization in F&B, retail or hospitality preferred

Other Key Qualifications

•Computer literacy including experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat Pro
•Working knowledge of general office equipment, like printers and fax machines
•Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
•Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks within a defined time period
•Demonstrated willingness to assist and support others
•Ability to maintain confidential information
•Able to communicate clearly in both written and verbal correspondence
•Resourceful with an established bias for action in a team environment
•Team player with excellent interpersonal/communication skills – up, down, and across the organization
•Highly organized and self-motivated
•Dependable, flexible and professional demeanor
•Work well in a fast-paced environment
•Ability to travel overnight up to 25%

Additional Physical Requirements

•Must be able to continuously see, view computer monitors, receive and make fine discrimination in sound
•Must be able to sit, type, write, perform repetitive simple grasping, fine manipulation, and push/pull/carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
•Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule as dictated by the needs of the business
