Job Summary

The Director of Supply Chain will be responsible for the development and execution of the supply chain strategy. Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain. This position requires superior business, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to implement new supply chain techniques and lean/continuous improvement programs. This is a hands-on role with limited supervision requiring initiative and drive. The Director of Supply Chain must possess broad, relevant business knowledge, and be able to ruthlessly prioritize competing initiatives. The Director of Supply Chain will lead, develop, and manage a cross functional supply chain team of professionals encompassing demand, supply, distribution, and business planning. This individual must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately across and at all levels of the company as required.

•Implement execution on supply chain strategies.
•Proactively introduce innovative solutions to improve the supply chain with regards to total cost of ownership and quality.
•Work with VP, to develop supply chain functional vision and objectives.
•Build, lead and support strategic relationships with suppliers including owning key strategic categories.
•Identify secondary sources for categories to mitigate business risk.
•Lead category management process through negotiation and contract execution.
•Create KPI’s for suppliers and distributors.
•Utilize a team buying strategy across multiple spend areas to deliver first time quality in all areas of service and costs.
•Analyze financial, industry and internal forecasts for products and materials and anticipates changes in cost, availability, and suitability of products.
•Manage operational, distributor and supplier-related issues, as well as other various requests as required
(sourcing, product information, etc.).
•Build various reporting and analytics as required (i.e., inventory, spend profile, etc.).
•Network effectively within the industry; study industry publications, trade journals and market information
\tto keep current on relevant changes in procurement.
•Collaborate within the company including Operations, R&D, Training team and suppliers.

Leadership Responsibilities and Reporting

The Director of Supply Chain reports to the Vice President of Purchasing & Distribution and provides support to the Operations teams and functional department heads.

Additional Info:

•Four (4) college degree or equivalent 10 years of industry experience in Foodservice and Supply Chain preferred
•Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
•Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
•Working knowledge of distribution and foodservice categories: i.e. food, beverage, packaging, supplies, equipment
•Recognizes patterns in data, information and/or events; draws logical conclusions to develop recommendations
•Strong interpersonal skills; displays integrity, respect and transparency in interactions with others
•Proven experience working with cross-functional teams.
•Convey a sense of urgency to achieve outcomes and exceed expectations; persist despite obstacles and setbacks

•Must be able to continuously view company communications, express ideas and provide written responses on paper and through digital tools
•Must be able to remain in a stationary position and move independently within an office environment
•Must be able to perform repetitive simple grasping and fine manipulation on a frequent basis
•Must be able to transport general office equipment and documents weighing up to five pounds
•Must be able to travel to and from work locations when requested/required
•Must be flexible and willing to work a varied schedule that could include nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by the needs of the business
