Senior Internal Audit Manager

The Senior Internal Audit Manager is a strategic leader within the Internal Audit function, responsible for overseeing the execution of the annual SOX audit plan and broader risk-based internal audit initiatives. This role provides critical insight into the company’s internal control environment and partners with executive leadership to drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation strategies. The Senior Manager will lead complex audits, manage relationships with external auditors, and play a key role in shaping the company’s governance, risk, and compliance framework.
Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, execution and reporting of financial, operational and compliance audits across the organization.
- Drive the development and ongoing refinement of a risk-based annual audit plan, ensuring alignment with the Company’s key risks and strategic priorities.
- Develop and maintain a risk-based audit plan and ensure alignment with business priorities
- Evaluate internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvement and risk mitigation
- Prepare and deliver clear, compelling audit reports and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions
- Build effective relationships with process owners and senior management to stay abreast of activities within the Company’s operations for consideration in risk assessment exercises and audit planning activities
- Educate management and process owners by leading training sessions to demonstrate compliance requirements and share hot topics in SOX compliance
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed
- Provide guidance and mentorship to audit team members and support their professional development
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in internal auditing and adjust audit plans accordingly.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to strengthen internal controls, enhance operational efficiency, and support regulatory compliance
- Champion the use of data analytics and automation to improve audit quality, efficiency, and insight generation
- Partner with external auditors on SOX strategy and testing to optimize reliance and reduce duplication of efforts.
- Lead or support investigations into suspected fraud or misconduct, coordinating with Legal and Compliance as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CIA, or CISA certification strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in internal audit public accounting or a related field. Restaurant, hospitality or retail industry experience preferred
- Comprehensive understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g. COSO), risk assessment, audit methodologies, PCAOB standards, and GAAP
- Experience auditing IT general controls (ITGCs) and application controls
- EPR system knowledge

- Leads operational activities for a group of First Watch Restaurants by performing the following in accordance with Company guidelines regarding management development, sales, and profitability, planning and customer and employee relations
- Trains, coaches and develops General Managers and Operations Managers, through timely performance and observation feedback and evaluations
- Follows up on training of MIT's/CAFE’s and hourly employees. Works closely with the Training General Manager to monitor progress
- Ensures development of Operations Managers within compliance of the FW management development programs
- Through effective manpower planning executes the continuous development of the management team and ensures timely and cost effective recruitment of restaurant level management and their training within First Watch
- Ensures the maintenance of a safe and harassment free workplace in all restaurants

Receptionist

The Receptionist is responsible for ensuring each employee, customer and visitor has a positive experience when calling or visiting the home office. The goal should always be to provide “You First” customer service.
Responsibilities

- Answer and transfer incoming phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Greet visitors and direct them to the correct employee.
- Distribute key fobs to visitors and maintain list of dates received and returned.
- Keep the reception area and conference rooms organized.
- Answer questions about new restaurant openings and general inquiries (phone numbers and addresses).
- Manage and update phone lists in Smartsheets.
- Maintain knowledge of the organizational structure, home office employee names and titles.
- Assemble new hire office supplies and welcome gifts.
- Order new hire signage (office door or name plate) and business cards depending on position.
- Sort and distribute incoming USPS mail, UPS, FedEx, and Amazon packages.
- Prepare outgoing FedEx packages as needed for senior leadership team.
- Maintain home office accounts for FedEx, Staples, and Amazon.
- Work with facilities specialist when service orders need placed for office repairs.
- Maintain copiers and mail machine, including supplies and submitting service orders as needed.
- Order office supplies through Staples or Amazon.
- Order snacks from Costco and BJs for breakroom.
- Place fresh fruit delivered each Monday morning in the break room.
- Order lunch and send invites to home office employees for Friday luncheons.
- Put clean dishes away and keep the break room stocked with supplies, fresh fruit, and snacks.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Strong customer service orientation.

- Takes quick and responsible action in solving problems and able to uses reason when dealing with individual or staff performance based issues to include personality conflicts
- Develops for prior approval and then meets or exceeds the area’s budget, including capital investments, General and Administrative expenses
- Promotes First Watch outside the restaurant
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – concentration in food & beverage, business, marketing or management is preferred
- Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in multi unit restaurant industry operations
- Proven track record of achieving results and building & maintaining successful teams
- Passion for providing excellent service and quality
- Ability to partner and build relationships while demonstrating leadership and integrity and promoting team success
- Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently within assigned market
