BI Developer

The First Watch Restaurant Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for creating and managing First Watch's analytical solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage proven technical skills in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence tools. The role will collaborate with the First Watch team to translate business needs into technical and reporting requirements and ensure the overall health of the First Watch Business Analytics environment.

- Design, implement, optimize, and monitor end-to-end data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming structured and unstructured data, including monitoring automated ETL pipelines (Azure Data Factory - ADF)
- Implement data validation and quality checks to guarantee accuracy and consistency
- Create and support reports, dashboards, and visualizations for internal business customers using Power BI
- Develop and maintain data security and permission solutions for enterprise-scale data warehouses, including data encryption, user access controls, and logging (Azure SQL))
- Onboard new data sets (i.e., Data Acquisition) to the Data Warehouse using Azure Data Factory and possibly other tools or techniques
- Develop and sustain integration with internal and external data sources
- Develop and maintain data warehouse, metadata, data catalog, and user documentation for internal business clients
- Collaborate with external and internal resources to maintain the overall health of the First Watch Business Analytics environment
- Assist with researching new technologies and evaluating how/if they fit in at First Watch
- Serve as a liaison between business owners and developers to meet company analytical goals from requirements gathering through implementation
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot problems, and implement optimizations to improve reliability and efficiency
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify improvement opportunities and answer questions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
- Minimum of five years of data engineering experience
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework

Marketing Operations Specialist

The Marketing Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining and building upon First Watch’s marketing operations platforms, including management of new restaurant opens, menu updates, restaurant waitlist management, off-premise channel maintenance and platform setup to improve the customer experience and create seamless workflows between marketing and other departments.
This ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented team player with strong project management and problem-solving skills. - Leads day-to-day marketing operations platforms for the First Watch brand, including but not limited to the in-restaurant waitlist experience (Olo), Off-premise (Olo, UberEats, Door Dash) and restaurant location database (Soci) to support the initial journey of the customer experience
- Oversees the cross-functional menu rollout process from conception to completion, leading interdepartmental communication, collaboration and implementation of menu maintenance and iteration (limited time menus, POS coordination, etc.)
- Oversees the marketing operations for new restaurant opens in strong collaboration with the Marketing team
- Partners with cross-functional department teams to identify ways to integrate marketing plans and tools into our operational processes, providing a forum for actionable solutions to any material operational challenges or changes
- Assists with marketing operations innovation through regional pilots and tests to solve business needs and when successful, implements systemwide rollouts for new marketing operations initiatives
- Develops key messaging for internal audiences, in partnership with training team, regarding certain marketing operations initiatives and rollouts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (degree in communications/public relations/marketing or related field is preferred).
- 2 years of experience in restaurant/tech marketing or operations preferred.
- Restaurant/hospitality experience preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Technical Accounting Expertise
- Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and assess their impact on the organization
- Research, interpret, and implement new accounting pronouncements or changes in regulations (SEC)
- Provide guidance on accounting issues, collaborate with other departments to address challenges and document memos on technical / complex accounting issues / transactions (may include debt transactions, impairment analysis, cash flow hedge accounting, etc.)

Policy Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement accounting policies
- Work with various departments to communicate and educate teams on accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure staff on the accounting team are aware of accounting policy updates for compliance
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing policies and recommend updates as needed
Internal Controls
- Establish and maintain a strong system of internal controls
- Collaborate with internal audit to identify and address control deficiencies
- Implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of internal controls
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, treasury, operations, purchasing, etc. to address accounting-related matters
- Communicate complex accounting issues in a clear and concise manner
- Work closely with, train and develop accounting team members
Advisory Role
- Provide guidance on transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other business initiatives to ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Evaluate the financial impact of proposed transactions and provide recommendations
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Public company experience preferred
- Extensive experience (typically 5-7 years) in accounting roles, with demonstrated progression
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
