Lease Administration Analyst

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The Lease Administration Analyst will be responsible for interpreting and analyzing information for leases, amendments, assignments, and other legal documents. The ideal candidate has the demonstrated ability to read and interpret a commercial lease and to focus on analysis of monthly financial statements. This includes the reconciling of general ledger accounts and the evaluation of all monetary aspects of the Lease, including base rent, taxes, insurance, Common Area Maintenance and utilities.

  • Audit and reconcile Landlord ledgers/invoices and validate we are paying in accordance with the lease agreement
  • Liaise between Landlords and internal teams to rectify discrepancies due to escrow changes or unapplied / misapplied payments, utilities, etc.
  • Maintain lease database system (Pro Lease) with current triple net escrows.
  • Create and maintain weekly and monthly rent report for reoccurring and non-reoccurring payments, escrow adjustments, reconciliations, rent commencements, rent/escrow shortfalls, sales tax, etc.
  • Prepare notice letters and calculate billing statements for lease violations such as failure to pay Tenant Improvement Allowance and delayed delivery rent credits.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance or Accounting preferred; high school diploma required
  • 3-5 years of full-time experience in accounting in a medium to large organization; lease accounting a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments
  • Experience within the retail, restaurant, or similar industry that includes multiple locations in various states
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Public Accounting experience preferred

Tax Manager

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The Tax Manager is responsible for managing the implementation of tax policies and procedures in each tax jurisdiction in which the company operates while remaining in compliance with tax laws and accounting policies. This position will have primary responsibility for the managing of all tax related functions, as well as interface with outsourced vendor providing tax compliance services.

  • Manage the accurate and timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and local sales and use tax returns as well as all other areas of tax compliance in adherence with applicable tax laws.
  • Work closely with our third-party tax advisors to manage the accounting for corporate income taxes throughout the year, including gathering all appropriate information and performing a detailed review of year-end provisions prepared by third-party tax advisors and in house preparation of quarterly provisions with the third-party tax advisors providing consultation services.
  • Prepare quarterly and review year-end financial statement tax disclosures in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 740) for financial reporting.
  • Lead, manage, and develop Tax staff member.
  • Review reconciliations and analysis prepared by tax staff member.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate internal controls for income taxes.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Company’s business and proactively work alongside Director of Tax Accounting and outsourced vendor on tax consequences of proposed business flow changes.
  • Liaison with Management, Director of Tax Accounting, Tax staff, and Accounting staff on any tax issues.
  • Manage all federal, state, and local tax audits (e.g., income tax, sales and use tax).
  • Work collaboratively with other corporate functions (e.g., internal audit, treasury, finance, licensing, legal, payroll).
  • Manage the retention of tax records and other required reports.
  • Maintain current knowledge of tax laws, updates/revisions, and inform Director of Tax Accounting of issues affecting First Watch.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting. Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Six + years of related experience with at least 3 years working in a national public accounting firm and/or in a public corporation
  • At least 2 years of manager experience
  • Strong experience in ASC 740 and SEC reporting required
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Tax regulations
  • Expert-level ability with MS Excel
  • Experience working with third party service providers
  • Experience with ERP systems; Great Plains is preferred

The I.T. Project Manager plays a vital role in the successful execution and delivery of technology projects. Working closely with various departments and stakeholders, the I.T.   • Experience working in the restaurant or hospitality industry is a plus

Director of Operations

Location: Tucson

Overview

The Director of Operations is responsible for supporting the mission, vision and values of First Watch through all that he/she does in their role every day. The DO’s primary purpose is to develop General Managers and restaurant management teams to build and increase sales over the previous year and improve profitability, while ensuring employee and guest satisfaction, without compromising the integrity or You First culture of the concept. The Director of Operations is responsible for the success of all First Watch operations within their span of control (5-8 direct reports and 200-300 employees).

 


Responsibilities

  • Leads operational activities for a group of First Watch Restaurants by performing the following in accordance with Company guidelines regarding management development, sales, and profitability, planning and customer and employee relations
  • Trains, coaches and develops General Managers and Operations Managers, through timely performance and observation feedback and evaluations
  • Follows up on training of MIT's/CAFE’s and hourly employees. Works closely with the Training General Manager to monitor progress
  • Ensures development of Operations Managers within compliance of the FW management development programs
  • Through effective manpower planning executes the continuous development of the management team and ensures timely and cost effective recruitment of restaurant level management and their training within First Watch
  • Ensures the maintenance of a safe and harassment free workplace in all restaurants
  • Takes quick and responsible action in solving problems and able to uses reason when dealing with individual or staff performance based issues to include personality conflicts
  • Develops for prior approval and then meets or exceeds the area’s budget, including capital investments, General and Administrative expenses
  • Promotes First Watch outside the restaurant

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – concentration in food & beverage, business, marketing or management is preferred
  • Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in multi unit restaurant industry operations
  • Proven track record of achieving results and building & maintaining successful teams
  • Passion for providing excellent service and quality
  • Ability to partner and build relationships while demonstrating leadership and integrity and promoting team success
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry

IT Support Desk Technician

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The IT Support Desk Technician is part of an IT team and provides tier 1 IT support throughout the organization. The IT Support Desk Technician’s primary role is providing technical support for software, hardware, database and applications, to employees and our restaurants by performing problem diagnosis and triage and providing timely solutions to the end-users remotely. VP of Quality Assurance & Food Safety

Overview

The VP of Quality Assurance & Food Safety will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and product quality at First Watch. This position will lead a team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality assurance and food safety management system programs. This role requires a deep understanding of food safety regulations, industry best practices, and the ability to provide oversight, direction, and leadership to protect the brand.

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of comprehensive food safety and quality assurance strategy for all restaurants within the company's multi-state operations that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality assurance and food safety professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure continuous improvement in performance and results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Marketing, Training, Human Resources, Construction, Facility Management, Legal, Supply Chain, and Culinary, to ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, regulations, and certifications.
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on the effectiveness of supplier quality assurance and food safety programs.
  • Conduct periodic  proactive visits of restaurants to identify areas for improvement to achieve active managerial control and ensure adherence to established standards.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to food safety and quality assurance to reflect industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that could impact the business to proactively adapt and improve quality assurance programs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with relevant regulatory agencies and bodies and serve as a liaison with external agencies, including academia and industry, to maintain compliance with all applicable food safety and quality standards.
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints related to food safety and quality in a timely manner, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage crisis situations related to food safety or quality incidents, including coordinating recalls and communication efforts.
  • Oversee programs such as nutrition, employee wellness, third-party audits, sanitation, pest control and health department inspection results.
  • Delivers results through sustainable processes and fosters a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Promotes a strong food safety culture by liaising with leadership to maintain commitment and align with company strategic objectives.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, animal science, agriculture science, microbiology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in quality assurance and food safety, with progressive leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food safety regulations, including FDA Food Code, HACCP, FSMA and other industry standards.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing quality assurance programs within a multi-state or multi-location environment.
  • Advanced certification such as Certified Professional Food Safety (CP-FS), Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), Registered Sanitarian (RS) or Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) is preferred.

The Quality Assurance Manager supports the supply management process to ensure compliance to all First Watch product quality assurance standards. Quality Assurance:

  • Works within certain databases to ensure the accuracy of product and supplier quality assurance information that is risk-based to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Builds relationships with vendors to support food safety and quality assurance standards.
  • Conducts initial onboarding vetting or troubleshooting audits of manufacturing facilities as requested.
  • Assists in maintaining the supplier quality assurance tracking systems and all documentation.

Nutrition and Allergens - FDA Menu Labeling Law Compliance:

  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of nutrition and allergen data for all menu boards by adhering to standardized analysis processes.
  • Partner with third party nutrition provider to ensure new ingredients and menu items are accurate.
  • Ensure nutrition and allergen information is consistent with nutrition, allergen, and menu labeling laws at the federal and local level.
  • Develop quality metrics for nutrition and allergen analysis.
  • Continuously improve the First Watch nutrition and allergen program.
  • Lead the identification of lifestyle diet menu options.

FSMA 204 – FDA Food Traceability Rule Compliance:

  • Analyze traceability data and trends to drive compliance in conjunction with all key stakeholders.
  • Create SOPs and documents related to traceability initiatives.
  • Work with vendors for system improvement, verification, and data utilization to support QAFS, Supply Chain, Legal, Operations, and other departmental use cases.

Animal Welfare and Sustainability

  • Liaise with vendors to gather relevant data and reports.
  • Ensure vendors maintain compliance with First Watch standards as they evolve.
  • Develop and report key metrics for animal welfare and sustainability initiatives.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responds to Customer Care inquiries of nutrition, ingredient, and product information as needed.

Qualifications

    • Analyze existing workflows and recommend system enhancements or changes to streamline processes.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through automation and system enhancements
    • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to implement system upgrades and new functionalities
    • Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute HRIS system upgrades and enhancements.

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in HRIS management, configuration, and support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
