Treasury Coordinator

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The Treasury Coordinator is responsible for accurate and timely completion of day to day treasury activities for the Treasury function and ensuring Treasury activities are in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.  The role will work closely with internal staff and serve as a point of contact for field operators in a fast-paced environment.

  • Assist in banking administration to include daily cash summary, vendor payments, wire transfers, maintenance of payment templates and payment controls within banking platform
  • Act as liaison between the home office, restaurant operators, bank partners and vendors for the Treasury function
  • Assist in supporting new restaurants openings by tracking and setting up required accounts/needs for new locations
  • Track cash needs for multiple locations
  • Assist in the development of forms, procedures and work instructions
  • Assist with gathering and organizing documentation requested in connection with various audits/requests
  • Provide ad hoc analysis/reporting as needed to support business needs
  • Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

 


Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Knowledge of Excel and other MS Office applications is required

Director of Real Estate

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The Director of Real Estate will direct real estate functions for First Watch in Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Kansas, and Missouri.

  • Preparation and management of Development Market Strategies for new growth, for corporate markets
  • Hiring and working with brokers to analyze and select new site locations
  • Negotiating all aspects of Letters of Intent
  • Assist in lease negotiations and the creation of lease exhibits
  • Working with Development Team to bring all aspects of new restaurant openings together (design, scheduling, budgeting)
  • Preparing materials and presentation of new site opportunities at Real Estate Committee meetings
  • Work with team on Real Estate Committee approved locations through to opening
  • Review and study existing locations in-region, for the purpose of making lease renewal decisions as well as to evaluate relocation opportunities

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years in Real Estate site selection and leadership position within high new-unit-growth business is required, preferably in the restaurant industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Must be strategically oriented with strong background in site selection
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills

Financial Controls Audit Manager

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The Financial Controls Audit Manager provides a key role in the internal audit function and is primarily responsible for leading the execution of the annual SOX audit plan including but not limited to the review, testing, analysis, evaluation, and conclusion over the design and operating effectiveness of the Company’s internal controls over financial reporting. This position will also be responsible for identifying and facilitating the implementation of process improvements and the reporting of all findings, deficiencies, and remediation plans. This position is expected to be hands-on in all aspects of project planning and execution of SOX activities to ensure business risks are anticipated, identified, recognized, and appropriately managed. This position interacts with mid-to-senior level management to discuss audit findings and recommendations intended to improve business practices.

  • Work independently, within a team, or lead a team in the planning and execution of the day-to-day Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts.
    • Perform the annual SOX risk assessment and determine in-scope controls for testing.
    • Evaluate internal controls at the entity level utilizing the COSO 2013 framework.
    • Manage process owners in maintaining and updating the process narratives/flowcharts as well as ensuring the appropriate / sufficient evidence of controls.
    • Manage internal control walkthroughs and test plans. Ensure walkthroughs and test plans are executed within the agreed-upon timeline, and that any issues are appropriately identified, documented, concluded upon, and fully supported.
    • Ensure audit conclusions are based upon a complete understanding of the process, ITGCs, application controls, circumstances, and risk to the organization.
    • Lead sessions to discuss testing procedures, progress updates, and findings with Internal Audit leadership and process owners. Partner with the process owners to develop remediation plans to address internal control deficiencies and failures arising from the testing process. Follow up on deficiencies to assess the adequacy of corrective actions.
  • Supervise staff and/or consultants assigned to SOX audit engagements and provide leadership, guidance and direction for all areas that are associated with the audit project deliverables. Communicate assigned tasks to the engagement team in a manner that is clear and concise, ensuring high quality, accurate, and efficient audit results.
  • Build effective relationships with process owners and senior management to stay abreast of activities within the Company’s operations for consideration in risk assessment exercises and audit planning activities.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the external auditor on the SOX strategy and testing to optimize reliance opportunities.
  • Educate management and process owners by leading training sessions to demonstrate compliance requirements and share hot topics in SOX compliance.
  • Assist with the development of the annual audit plan, including the on-going identification and assessment of the Company’s key risks.
  • Identify and implement ideas for improving department processes and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting and internal audit guidance, methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 and PCAOB Audit Standards, GAAP, COSO, IPPF) utilizing self-study and/or continuing education.
  • Lead and support other internal audit related projects as assigned.

 


Qualifications

  • CPA or CIA
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/auditing experience, including supervisory experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of internal auditing, Sarbanes Oxley, PCAOB standards, COSO Framework, and GAAP
  • Public accounting (audit) experience
  • Exposure to auditing ITGCs and application controls
  • Able to document and analyze business processes
  • Experience with external auditors
  • Strong computer skills (Great Plains, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, etc.)

Staff Accountant

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for certain month-end, quarter end and year-end reconciliation and closing processes, ensuring transactions are adequately supported and accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This position will also support the external audit, perform income statement analytics and perform special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments
  • Experience within the retail, restaurant, or similar industry that includes multiple locations in various states

Overview

The Facilities Specialist will assist the Regional Facilities Managers on daily responsibilities as well as handling accounts and managing utilities and service calls. Dir of Operations

Overview

The Director of Operations is responsible for supporting the mission, vision and values of First Watch through all that he/she does in their role every day. The DO’s primary purpose is to develop General Managers and restaurant management teams to build and increase sales over the previous year and improve profitability, while ensuring employee and guest satisfaction, without compromising the integrity or You First culture of the concept. The Director of Operations is responsible for the success of all First Watch operations within their span of control (5-8 direct reports and 200-300 employees).

 


Responsibilities

  • Leads operational activities for a group of First Watch Restaurants by performing the following in accordance with Company guidelines regarding management development, sales, and profitability, planning and customer and employee relations
  • Trains, coaches and develops General Managers and Operations Managers, through timely performance and observation feedback and evaluations
  • Follows up on training of MIT's/CAFE’s and hourly employees. Works closely with the Training General Manager to monitor progress
  • Ensures development of Operations Managers within compliance of the FW management development programs
  • Through effective manpower planning executes the continuous development of the management team and ensures timely and cost effective recruitment of restaurant level management and their training within First Watch
  • Ensures the maintenance of a safe and harassment free workplace in all restaurants
  • Takes quick and responsible action in solving problems and able to uses reason when dealing with individual or staff performance based issues to include personality conflicts
  • Develops for prior approval and then meets or exceeds the area’s budget, including capital investments, General and Administrative expenses
  • Promotes First Watch outside the restaurant

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – concentration in food & beverage, business, marketing or management is preferred
  • Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in multi unit restaurant industry operations
  • Proven track record of achieving results and building & maintaining successful teams
  • Passion for providing excellent service and quality
  • Ability to partner and build relationships while demonstrating leadership and integrity and promoting team success
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry

Supply Chain Manager

Overview

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for leading distribution and supplier management activities (transactional and executional functions) as well as the implementation of the procurement strategy across multiple categories of spend. This role includes, but is not limited to: setting inventory levels with suppliers and distributors, reviewing proposals, supplier selection and management, invoice review and approval, project management/coordination, KPI analysis, new product development and sourcing. This is a hands-on role with limited supervision requiring initiative and drive.   • Lead execution on strategies related to sourcing not limited to food, goods and services

  • Provide product information JIT for Procure To Pay and Inventory programs
  • Create, improve, and maintain reporting and analytical capabilities to support decision-making using tools like Excel and business analysis tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Use current visualization tools for process mapping and problem-solving
  • Analyze and optimize service trends: identify patterns of missed opportunities, measure on-going project success and be able to work on continuous improvement in all areas of the supply chain
  • Support finished goods optimization modeling in distribution centers (SKU level, and by distribution location)
  • Identify savings and value opportunities through data analysis and be able to work with internal and external partners
  • Collect, analyze and recommend action to support NRO’s, LTO’s and other strategic projects.
  • Provide supply chain analysis to first and last mile transportation, distribution and ancillary service costs building an end-to-end cost picture
  • Work with Director of Supply Chain to build various reporting and analytics as required (inventory, spend profile, etc)
  • Report out to business leadership - KPI’s, project updates, and business status as needed with consistent accuracy and a sense of urgency
  • Collaborate within the company including Operations, Finance, Accounting, I.T. and suppliers

 


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated success in Supply Chain or Procurement experience specifically in the areas forecasting, inventory management and/or procurement

Overview

  • Prepare financial statement tax disclosures in accordance with US GAAP (ASC 740) for quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate internal controls for income taxes
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Company’s business and proactively work alongside Director of Tax and outsourced vendor on tax consequences of proposed business flow changes
  • Liaison with management and accounting staff on any tax issues
  • Provide relevant support for any federal, state and local tax audits (e.g., income tax, sales and use tax)
  • Retain tax records and other required reports.
  • Maintain current knowledge of tax laws, updates and revisions and inform senior management of issues affecting First Watch

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting. Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • 2+ years of related experience with at least 1 year working in a national public accounting firm and/or in a public corporation

The Director of Operations is responsible for supporting the mission, vision and values of First Watch through all that he/she does in their role every day.   • Leads operational activities for a group of First Watch Restaurants by performing the following in accordance with Company guidelines regarding management development, sales, and profitability, planning and customer and employee relations
