IT Support Desk Technician

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The IT Support Desk Technician is part of an IT team and provides tier 1 IT support throughout the organization. The IT Support Desk Technician’s primary role is providing technical support for software, hardware, database and applications, to employees and our restaurants by performing problem diagnosis and triage and providing timely solutions to the end-users remotely. We are looking for a team player who clearly communicates technical solutions in a professional manner; setup and install hardware and software; Active directory user administration, provide desk side assistance to users; documenting all support activities; and performing related work as required. First Watch Restaurants operate a support process 7 days a week with peak days being the weekends.

  • Works daily in an incident management application/ticketing system to ensure IT tickets are managed and resolved in a manner meeting or exceeding an internal SLA

  • Troubleshoot and resolve PC \ POS hardware, software and telecommunication issues in a timely and effective manner

BI Developer

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The First Watch Restaurant Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for building and managing First Watch analytical solutions. The ideal candidate will apply proven technical expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions. The position will partner with the First Watch business to translate business needs to technical and reporting specifications and ensure the overall day-to-day health of the First Watch Business Analytics environment.

  • Develop and monitor automated ETL pipelines (Azure Data Factory - ADF)
  • Support reporting and analytics infrastructure for internal business customers (Power BI)
  • Develop and maintain data security and permissions solutions for enterprise-scale data warehouse, including data encryption and database user access controls and logging (Azure SQL)
  • Onboard new data sets (i.e., Data Acquisition) to the Data Warehouse (Azure Data Factory and possibly other tools/techniques)
  • Develop and maintain data warehouse and metadata, data catalog, and user documentation for internal business customers
  • Partner with external/internal resources to ensure the overall health of the First Watch Business Analytics environment
  • Assist with researching new technologies and evaluating how/if they fit in at First Watch
  • Act as a liaison between business owners and developers to achieve company analytical goals from requirements gathering through implementation

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
  • Minimum of five years of data engineering experience 
  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP), Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework
  • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power BI)
  • Proven abilities to take the initiative and be innovative
  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude

Director of Operations

Location: Stuart

Overview

The Director of Operations is responsible for supporting the mission, vision and values of First Watch through all that he/she does in their role every day. The DO’s primary purpose is to develop General Managers and restaurant management teams to build and increase sales over the previous year and improve profitability, while ensuring employee and guest satisfaction, without compromising the integrity or You First culture of the concept. The Director of Operations is responsible for the success of all First Watch operations within their span of control (5-8 direct reports and 200-300 employees).

 


Responsibilities

  • Leads operational activities for a group of First Watch Restaurants by performing the following in accordance with Company guidelines regarding management development, sales, and profitability, planning and customer and employee relations
  • Trains, coaches and develops General Managers and Operations Managers, through timely performance and observation feedback and evaluations
  • Follows up on training of MIT's/CAFE’s and hourly employees. Works closely with the Training General Manager to monitor progress
  • Ensures development of Operations Managers within compliance of the FW management development programs
  • Through effective manpower planning executes the continuous development of the management team and ensures timely and cost effective recruitment of restaurant level management and their training within First Watch
  • Ensures the maintenance of a safe and harassment free workplace in all restaurants
  • Takes quick and responsible action in solving problems and able to uses reason when dealing with individual or staff performance based issues to include personality conflicts
  • Develops for prior approval and then meets or exceeds the area’s budget, including capital investments, General and Administrative expenses
  • Promotes First Watch outside the restaurant

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent – concentration in food & beverage, business, marketing or management is preferred
  • Five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in multi unit restaurant industry operations
  • Proven track record of achieving results and building & maintaining successful teams
  • Passion for providing excellent service and quality
  • Ability to partner and build relationships while demonstrating leadership and integrity and promoting team success
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry

Staff Accountant

Location: Bradenton

Overview

The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for certain month-end, quarter end and year-end reconciliation and closing processes, ensuring transactions are adequately supported and accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This position will also support the external audit, perform income statement analytics and perform special projects as needed.

  • Prepare detailed reconciliations of certain balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare accounting-related journal entries to assigned areas of work
  • Analyze accounting problems and arrive at workable solutions. Evaluate information, identifykey issues that need to be addressed and develop courses of action that effectively address the issue at hand
  • Manage assigned projects by prioritizing work to meet established deadlines, ensuring that accounting objectives are accomplished and keeping leadership informed of project status and issues
  • Preparation of supporting data for external auditors
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment
  • Work effectively and alongside third-party service providers (consultants, auditors)
  • Work collaboratively with other Corporate functions (Development, Operations, Finance)

  • Support other accounting related projects and functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Accounting/Finance; Master’s degree and CPA is a plus
  • 2+ years of full-time experience in accounting
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Fixed asset accounting experience a plus
  • Lease accounting experience a plus
  • Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments
  • Experience within the retail, restaurant, or similar industry that includes multiple locations in various states
  • Experience with and understanding of SEC rules a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains and Blackline a plus
  • Public Accounting experience strongly preferred

Lease Administration Specialist

Location: Bradenton

Overview

This individual will be responsible for tasks related to lease administration and supporting the Asset Management Team. This position will interact heavily with Landlords and partner with various First Watch Teams (Real Estate, Development Management, Accounting, Operations, Facilities, etc.).

  • Initially oversee the management of 25-50 restaurant locations within First Watch’s portfolio of over 550+ locations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to resolving property management issues; reviewing and reconciling monthly and year-end expenses; abstracting leases, amendments, commencement date agreements, etc., into leasing software; and billing Tenant Improvement Allowance
  • Monitor the centralized email box and mail for the Asset Management team. Code and distribute emails and mail to appropriate people. Respond to general inquiries. Prepare outgoing mail and overnight packages
  • Maintain physical lease files and monitor retention policy. Maintain electronic filing system (Dropbox) and leasing software (Pro Lease) with pertinent lease documents
  • Manage requests for Certificates of Insurance including bulk send out for annual renewal of certificates of insurance. Liaison between Landlord and Insurance Service Provider to rectify any discrepancies
  • Process Change of Ownership or change in property management company. Obtain pertinent supporting documents necessary
  • Process New Vendor Set-Up forms for New Restaurants and Landlord entity changes. Liaison between Landlord and accounting to obtain and verify required documentation (W-9, ACH, Landlord Contact Form)
  • Assist as needed on ad-hoc projects that may arise

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance or Business concentrations preferred) or 3+ year’s relevant experience in commercial real estate lease administration and/or related accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is a key financial professional responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards, implementing accounting policies, and providing technical support on accounting issues to staff. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, auditors and accounting team members to maintain accurate and timely financial reporting and internal controls.

Technical Accounting Expertise

  • Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and assess their impact on the organization
  • Research, interpret, and implement new accounting pronouncements or changes in regulations (SEC)
  • Provide guidance on accounting issues, collaborate with other departments to address challenges and document memos on technical / complex accounting issues / transactions (may include debt transactions, impairment analysis, cash flow hedge accounting, etc.)
  • Train and support accounting staff on GAAP accounting issues
  • Prepare/review journal entries, internal schedules, account reconciliations, accounting procedures, process memos

Financial Reporting

  • Preparation/review of schedules supporting the financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Preparation/review of financial statement disclosures to ensure compliance with US GAAP

Policy Development and Implementation

  • Develop and implement accounting policies
  • Work with various departments to communicate and educate teams on accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure staff on the accounting team are aware of accounting policy updates for compliance
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing policies and recommend updates as needed

Internal Controls

  • Establish and maintain a strong system of internal controls
  • Collaborate with internal audit to identify and address control deficiencies
  • Implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of internal controls

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, treasury, operations, purchasing, etc. to address accounting-related matters
  • Communicate complex accounting issues in a clear and concise manner
  • Work closely with, train and develop accounting team members

Advisory Role

  • Provide guidance on transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other business initiatives to ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Evaluate the financial impact of proposed transactions and provide recommendations

 


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Public company experience preferred
  • Extensive experience (typically 5-7 years) in accounting roles, with demonstrated progression
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Construction Project Manager

Location: Bradenton

Overview

As a member of the Construction Team this individual will primarily be responsible for estimating and managing new restaurant openings (NRO’s) and Renovation Projects.  This includes tracking and ordering from all owner vendors as well as hiring and supporting a network of general contractors to ensure timelines and budgets are met.

  • Assists with due diligence, estimates and contract negotiations. Participates in development and reconciliation of capital estimates
  • Protects brand standards and quality control over new development projects
  • Ensures construction administration process is developed and executed. Manages project expenditures and job cost accounting processes including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, and tracking
  • Ensures compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes
  • Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors, identify qualified subcontractors, and negotiate pricing
  • Responsible for the development of the project schedule and schedule updates
  • Performs project close out including final paperwork, job walk through and any other follow up items with restaurant operations teams
  • Ensures inspections and permits are approved and closed out prior to restaurant turn over dates

 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience working on commercial construction projects.  Restaurant/retail experience a plus
  • Experience managing subcontractors or a subcontractor-based business preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of regulations and permits required
  • Track record of successful project completions and high customer satisfaction
